fivebyfive — Reality Coach & Happiness Engineer
Clear the signal.
Construct the core.
A practical course in living — by you, for you.
For those who have grown tired of inherited answers and are ready to examine what they actually believe at the centre, then work outward from there.
- Stop the Signal
- Set the Tone
- Pick a Station
- Listen
- Love Wins
This is not a system of belief and it is not a clinical method. It is a set of working observations drawn from sustained personal inquiry. The material addresses health of body, mind and spirit, the mechanics of happiness, basic healing practices, core construction, and the frames we place around ourselves.
The five operational steps are offered as practical tools. They are not required. They are available.
About
What are Credentials?
I am not formally trained by the traditional education system in the fields of psychology, theology, or clinical practice. The work presented here grows from decades of personal experiment, sustained meditation, direct observation, and the gradual recognition that many inherited systems obscure more than they reveal.
What matters is whether the material, when tested by you, produces clearer signal and a more honest relationship with yourself and others. That determination belongs entirely to you.
The Framework
The framework begins where most systems end.
With the recognition that lasting change moves from the core
outward. Everything else is framing.
Are you the picture, or are you the frame?
Five operational steps — offered, not required
01
Stop the Signal
Learn to hear the noise. Then learn that you do not have to keep listening to it.
02
Set the Tone
Once the noise has been interrupted, decide what you want this to be for.
03
Pick a Station
Actively choose the input you want to pay attention to.
04
Listen
Notice what happens when you stop giving equal attention to everything.
05
Love Wins
Not another task. What can emerge once the preparation has been done.
The work examines fear, ego, control, judgement, and the habit of treating oneself by a different standard than one applies to others. It then offers a simple operating principle:
Treat yourself and others the way you actually want to be treated, at a level you can sustain honestly.
Beyond these practical layers lies a further consideration — that much of what appears solid may be a shared construction maintained by repeated choice.
The material does not demand acceptance of this view. It simply places it on the table for examination.
The Books
Three volumes form the written foundation of this work.
-
Book One
I Don't Know… But Here Is What I Have So Far
Non-answers to some of life's larger questions
An exploration of fear, ego, control, judgement, the moment, and the practice of quieting the mind.
“There are no secrets in this book — only reminders of what you already know to be true.”
Paperback, Kindle & audiobook — Amazon.ca · Amazon.com
-
Book Two
The New Golden Rule
A short, focused refinement of an ancient principle
Treat yourself first at the highest standard you can honestly maintain, then extend that standard outward. Without this, the classic rule remains incomplete.
“Treat yourself, and others, the way you want to be treated.”
Paperback & Kindle — Amazon.ca · Amazon.com
Audiobook, read by the author, free — Part 1 · Part 2 -
Book Three
Battles of Belief
A multi-layered examination of classic atheist–Christian debates
Points beyond both positions. The deeper invitation is to notice the choice between Love and fear that operates beneath every argument, and to practice non-judgment as the most immediate reduction of unnecessary suffering.

Book Four — in progress
I Don't Care… And Neither Should You
Finding Calm in Chaos
Not indifference. Freedom from needing reality to be different before you're allowed to be at peace.
None of these texts claims final authority. They are tools. Read them, test them, keep what proves useful, and leave the rest.

Offerings
Coaching
One-to-one sessions are available for those who prefer to work with the material in the presence of another person. The sessions follow the same framework outlined on this site and in the books. There is no diagnosis, no prescribed belief system, and no expectation of ongoing dependency.
The purpose is simple: to examine current signals, clarify the core, and practice the application of the five steps and the self-first standard. You remain the author of your own course.
If you wish to examine these tools with another person present, a conversation can be arranged.
How sessions work
Initial in-person meetings normally take place in your home, by arrangement, for a scheduled one-hour conversation. This isn't mandatory — other arrangements can be discussed.
Sessions run in two-hour blocks, so there's room for a real conversation without ending simply because a clock reaches a particular minute. The client list stays small, by choice on both sides.
A second person present can be discussed, with payment considered if they're participating too. Young people are welcome, with parental or guardian involvement and presence where appropriate.
Rates
- Initial meeting$100
- Ongoing meetings$250

Free, and without obligation.
Selected excerpts, practical prompts, and condensed guidance are offered freely. These are not samples designed to create obligation. They are working tools. Use them, ignore them, or adapt them as you see fit.
A couple of questionnaires are available, if you'd like something to consider. Answer them honestly. Keep them to yourself, or send them along as a starting point for a conversation. Print a copy, fill it out, and return to it later — it can be worth revisiting.

The books remain available whether or not you ever speak with me. The framework remains available whether or not you purchase anything.
The only requirement is honesty with yourself about what you find when you look.
