Coaching in Kelowna,
with fivebyfive

One-to-one sessions, in person, built on a plain five-step framework instead of a diagnosis or a belief system.

Based in the Okanagan Valley. No dependency model, no credentialed authority being borrowed to make it sound bigger than it is — just a structured way to look at what you actually believe, and work outward from there.

fivebyfive isn't therapy and it isn't a motivational seminar. It's a set of working observations, tested over years and written down in three books, applied here as one-to-one coaching. The premise is simple: change moves from the core outward, and most of what people call "stuck" is really a frame that's gone unexamined for too long.

Coaching happens in Kelowna, in person, by arrangement — usually in your own space, on your own terms.

How it actually works

A conversation, not a consultation.

Most first meetings happen in your home, by arrangement, for a scheduled one-hour conversation — that's the default, not a requirement. If a coffee shop or a call suits you better, we can talk about that instead.

Ongoing sessions run in two-hour blocks. That's not padding — it's so a real conversation has room to actually finish somewhere, instead of ending because a clock hit a particular minute. I keep the client list small, by choice, on both sides.

There's no diagnosis, no prescribed belief system, and no expectation that you'll need to keep coming back forever. The goal is that you eventually need this less, not more.

The Framework

Five operational steps — offered, not required.

01

Stop the Signal

Notice the noise. Learn you don't have to keep listening to it.

02

Set the Tone

Decide what you actually want this to be for, before you react.

03

Pick a Station

Choose the input you're actually going to pay attention to.

04

Listen

Notice what happens once you stop giving equal weight to everything.

05

Love Wins

Not another task. What's available once the rest has been done.

This is the same framework behind the books, the free course material, and the content page — coaching just applies it with another person in the room.

Based here

Kelowna and the Okanagan Valley.

I live in the valley, which means winters here come with their own particular mood — the cloud sits low for weeks at a time while the hilltops stay in sun, which is as good a daily reminder as any that what you're looking at depends on where you're standing. Summers are the opposite kind of obvious. Either way, this work happens here, in person, with people who'd rather sit across from someone than fill out an app.

Serving Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country, and the surrounding Okanagan.

Sessions also travel through the valley to Vernon and Penticton by arrangement.

Before you write

Questions people actually ask.

Is this therapy or counselling?

No. There's no diagnosis, no clinical treatment, and it isn't a substitute for a mental health professional if that's what you need. It's a structured conversation built around examining what you believe and how you're framing your own life — closer to a thinking partner than a clinician.

Does it have to happen in person, in Kelowna?

In person is the default and usually the better experience, but it isn't a rule carved in stone. If you're in the Okanagan and a call suits your situation better, that's a conversation worth having up front.

What does it actually cost?

$100 for the initial meeting, $250 for ongoing sessions, each scheduled in a two-hour block. No subscription, no package you're pressured into buying up front.

Do I need to already know what I'm working on?

No. Plenty of people start with a feeling rather than a clear question. Sorting out what's actually being asked is often the first real piece of work.

Will I need to keep coming back forever?

That's specifically not the goal. This runs on a dojo model — teaching and learning are treated as the same thing, and the aim is that you need it less over time, not more.
