Forgiveness Is Silent (Or, What I Owe Becky)
I’d been ranting to myself again, which is how I do most of my thinking, about forgiveness and non-judgment, and how close they actually are. Forgiveness is a Jesus thing — a remedy, something you reach for after the fact. Non-judgment is more Buddhist — a preemptive strike. You never let the thing land in the first place.
Most relationship coaching ends up living somewhere between these two — some things need forgiving after the fact, some things are better caught before they land at all. Sessions work both ends.
