Mindset & Perspective — Vernon, BC

Mindset coaching in Vernon:
the verdict, and who actually asked for it

One-to-one, in person, for the half-second where something happens and you've already decided what it means.

Vernon winters don't ask permission — one week it's shirt sleeves, the next it's ice on the truck. Nobody here needs convincing that a first read of a situation can be dead wrong by morning.

Most people don't have a mindset problem so much as an undefended courtroom — a verdict gets handed down before anyone's actually looked at the evidence, and it's rarely the judge who pays for the mistake. This work isn't about being nicer to yourself. It's about noticing the gavel came down early and deciding whether the ruling actually holds up.

What this actually looks like

Attention is a limited resource. Spend it on purpose.

Two of the five steps carry most of this work: Stop the Signal, then Pick the Station. Stopping the signal means catching the judgment mid-flight, before it hardens into "that's just how it is." Picking the station means choosing, deliberately, which read of a situation you're actually going to run with — not the first one that showed up uninvited.

Sessions work through real, recent situations from your own week — a decision made on reflex, a conversation you're still replaying — not hypotheticals. You bring the moment; the work is slowing it down enough to see where the verdict actually came from.

The Monk, the Orgasm, and Dodgeball Heaven

I can’t imagine a topic more valuable to actually get behind and practice than this one. Judgment as the topic, non-judgment as the action. The rule is simple to say and hard to do: when you catch yourself judging anything, stop yourself. Back up and ask, why am I judging this?

Who this tends to be for

People whose gut reaction keeps turning out wrong.

Some people come in because their first read of things keeps being the wrong one, and they're tired of finding that out after the fact — after the email's sent, after the argument's started. Others have simply noticed how much of their day gets handed over to things with zero investment in them: traffic, a stranger's mood, the weather.

The work is the same either way: separating what actually happened from the ruling laid on top of it, and widening that gap until there's room to choose inside it on purpose.

Book One

I Don't Know… But Here Is What I Have So Far

The longer version of what a session does in an hour — fear, ego, control, and judgment, taken apart slowly, in writing. Not a manual. A record of one person working the same gap this page is talking about.

"There are no secrets in this book — only reminders of what you already know to be true."

Sessions

In person, in Vernon, on a real clock.

First meetings usually happen in your own space, for a scheduled one-hour conversation. Ongoing sessions run in two-hour blocks — enough room to work through an actual recent verdict instead of talking about mindset in the abstract.

Questions people actually ask.

Isn't this just positive thinking with extra steps?

No. Positive thinking asks you to swap one verdict for a nicer one. This asks whether a verdict needed to land at all, and whether it's actually earned your attention right now. Sometimes the honest answer is no — that's the useful part.

I've judged fast my whole life — can that actually change?

It's a practiced skill, not a fixed trait, and it responds to practice the way most skills do — slowly at first, then more automatically. Nobody's asking for an overhaul in one sitting.

Is this a substitute for therapy if I'm dealing with anxiety?

No. If what you're carrying needs clinical support, this isn't a replacement for that. It can sit alongside it, but it isn't a diagnosis or a treatment plan.

Do I need to read the books first?

No — the books and the free content page are there if you want more of the thinking behind this before or after a session, not as a prerequisite to starting.
